Uppsala University Library / Uppsala Universitetsbiblioteket: New Repository and new Digitized Medeival Manuscripts
We are excited to announce the addition of the Uppsala Universitetsbiblioteket / Uppsala University Library to the DMMapp! This valuable link was brought to our attention through the "Report Missing Institution" form, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the person who reported it.
What's changed? The DMMapp's February 2023 release notes
We're excited to announce the February 2023 release of a new version of our DMMapp (officially known as v.2023.02.23)!
Going forward!
2023 is bringing some changes to the way Sexy Codicology and the Digitized Medieval Manuscripts app (DMMapp) will go forth!
DMMapp - New major update on the way!
We are excited to reveal that the Sexy Codicology team has been hard at work on a new, major update for the DMMapp. In the past months we have worked hard on many aspects of the application with the goal to improve its usefulness, especially for researchers. Some of the cool new features include:
Coding Codices - Episode 1: Sexy Codicology and the DMMapp
We were guests of Coding Codices a podcast from the Digital Medievalist Postgraduate Subcommittee! Find more episodes of their super-interesting episodes at https://podcast.digitalmedievalist.org!
New Repository: Soprintendenza Archivistica e Bibliografica della Puglia e della Basilicata
We have just added a link to the Soprintendenza Archivistica e Bibliografica della Puglia e della Basilicata to the DMMapp. The website is super-interesting: unlike the vast majority of the links in the DMMapp, this is full of charters! Accessing them is a bit complex and it involves quite some clicks, but the content is amazing.
Maintenance & upgrades!
We have just released a crucial update for the DMMapp. While nothing visible changed on the website itself, on the back-end of the app it is a whole other story! Without going into too many boring technical details:
March Updates
Hey Codicologists, We have reviewed our reported broken links on the DMMapp, added two new repositories!
Create your own DMMapp!
Yes! We are delighted to announce that the code makes the DMMapp work is now available for everyone on GitHub!
When we developed the new DMMapp, we were of the opinion that the application we created should be reusable: everyone should have the possibility to recreate the DMMapp, or to create a similar app.
So, we took what we created, removed most of the Sexy Codicology modifications and links, and release the code on GitHub and as of today, you can create your own project based on the DMMapp!
What does this mean? Although Sexy Codicology focuses on digitized medieval manuscripts, there are so many other potential projects that might benefit for an app with a similar structure as the DMMapp:
