We have been working a bit in the shadows lately, and we thought it might be useful to share what we have been up to! Let's start from the DMMapp.
We are rewriting and improving some of our pages. The first one to be edited was the "Codicology" page that we have linked here. It's not perfect yet: it misses some content, and the style is a bit wonky... But we'll keep working on it! Once that is done, we'll move to other cornerstone pages on the Sexy Codicology website. We have also started using MLA citation format for our references on our posts. Although this will very often link to locked journals, and many readers will not be able to read the full texts, we find it important to cite our sources whenever we write these pages. Students, researchers, or enthusiasts can then find the texts we use and gain access via their university or library. We'll do our best find OA alternatives to link to. The aim is to have citations site-wide: pages and blog posts, Over time, all our content will be properly referenced. Like it should have been from the beginning, but we lacked the proper tools (and knowledge!) to do so :)
We have received another four new links to digitized manuscripts and we have added them to the DMMapp! This time around, the resources come from Slovenia, the US, and France. Let’s give a look!
It’s spring, the sun is shining, and the DMMapp has more links than ever thanks to the following additions:
There is so much to do! We have succesfully migrated the articles from the DMMapp blog to the Sexy Codicology blog; HTTPS is here too. Plus, we recently posted the article about the humanistic script. It is part of our "Medieval Scripts" section. Facebook is doing nice!
As you might have read in our previous post concerning the DMMapp 3.0, one of the best features is that now we can easily see which links in our database are broken, along with quickly adding what we receive via the missing library form.
We have been working hard, and we are super-proud to announce that the DMMapp 3.0 is out there and available for everyone to explore and enjoy!

No they don't, but we like to imagine they do! Let's go and see what has happened in the past months.
"We are dedicated to making digitized collections as easy to access as possible." That's the objective of the DMMapp Beta. Since its release, the DMMapp has been linking digital repositories to it users; but we believe it can always be better. That is why we have been reworking the app and are now releasing a public beta version for users to test and give us feedback.
With this release we particularly wanted to address various issues, mainly regarding performance and usability.
We are extremely proud to communicate that the DMMapp has now reached (and surpassed... we are adding a few in the next days!) the 400 links milestone! This means that, thanks to everyone's submissions, we can link to more than 400 libraries, archives, repositories, etc. that are home to digitized medieval manuscripts!
